The decision to extend his tenure for one year was unanimously approved in the Annual General Meeting on Wednesday. Let us tell you that before this, Jay Shah had become the President of Asian Cricket Council in January 2021. Before Shah, Bangladesh Cricket Board President Nazmul Hasan was on this post. After Shah’s tenure was extended, he became the youngest person to be re-appointed as the President of the Asian Cricket Council. Regarding Shah, Sri Lanka Cricket President Shammi Silva said, “Jay Shah has played an important role in taking the ACC towards significant progress in promoting and developing cricket across the Asian region. “Under the guidance of Jay Shah, ACC has played an important role in uncovering and promoting new talent in cricketing superpowers like Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.”

Asia Cup will be played in T20 format in 2025

Decision may be taken regarding broadcasting rights
Jay Shah can also take a decision regarding broadcasting rights in the ACC meeting. Under this the tournament is broadcast. Under-23, Under-19 and Women’s Asia Cup matches are also shown. Currently, Disney Plus Hotstar has the digital rights and Star has the TV rights. Many big broadcasters have also been invited for this.
