The order letter issued by NADA states, “If you accept the results, subject to the right of appeal, the matter will be resolved without further disciplinary proceedings. If you disagree, the matter will be referred to the Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel for decision.”

Punia will have to answer by May 7

According to sources, NADA informed the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) about Bajrang Punia’s refusal to give his sample. After this, WADA suggested NADA to issue a notice to Bajrang asking him to answer why he refused the test. In such a situation, NADA has issued a notice to Bajrang Punia on 23 April and asked him to reply by 7 May. Only when Bajrang responds to NADA, the date of hearing will be decided.

On being suspended by NADA, Bajrang Punia said, ‘I never refused to give samples to NADA officials.
