Time fixed for proceedings in the new Parliament House

In the Lok Sabha, Speaker Om Birla today adjourned the proceedings of the House and announced that the next meeting of the House will begin at 1:15 pm on Tuesday. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, while adjourning the proceedings of the Upper House, announced that the next meeting of the House will start on Tuesday at 2:15 pm. The special session of Parliament is scheduled to run from 18 to 22 September.

Lok Sabha Speaker announced that the proceedings would be conducted in the new building.

Recalling Ganesh Vasudev Mavalankar, Speaker of the first Lok Sabha of independent India, Birla said that as the first Speaker of the country’s highest democratic institution, he established the Rules Committee, Privileges Committee, Business Advisory Committee and many other parliamentary committees and was the Chairman of the House. All MPs will take a group photo on Tuesday

All the members of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will gather on Tuesday for a group photograph and then they will participate in a program to commemorate the rich heritage of Parliament and pledge to make India a developed nation by 2047. After that they will enter the new Parliament building. According to the bulletin issued by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, all the MPs have been invited for a group photograph at 9.30 am on Tuesday.

New identity cards issued for entry into the new Parliament House

New identity cards are being issued to MPs to enter the new Parliament building. In the present Parliament House, facilities like catering facilities in the MP Dining Room, MP Guest Dining Room, Central Hall, Media Pantry will be available till Tuesday afternoon and after that, facilities like Sangam I and Sangam II will be available at new places in the new Parliament House. But these facilities will be available.
