Dubai: Consul General of India in Dubai Satish Kumar Shivan inaugurated the exhibition on March 12 at a ceremony presided over by renowned sand artist and Odisha Lalit Kala Academy president Sudarshan Patnaik.
At least 15 tribal artists from Odisha created their paintings and displayed them before the global audience at the Hyatt Place Dubai Al Rigga. The exhibition concluded on Thursday.
The artworks were based on the tribal culture of Odisha especially the paintings of Sauras, Santhals, Kolhas and Kandhas. The tribal artists were from the districts of Rayagada, Koraput, Mayurbhanj, Kalahandi, Keonjhar and Sundergarh.
Many artists were also honored on this occasion. Madhusudan Das, Special Secretary, Department of Oriya Language, Literature and Culture, Government of Odisha and Panchanan Samal, Secretary, Odisha Lalit Kala Academy were present on this occasion.
