Chandigarh. The signals coming from Punjab in the Lok Sabha elections are not a good message for the country. Jailed Khalistani separatist Amritpal Singh seems to be moving towards victory in the trends from Punjab’s Khadur Sahib seat. Congress and AAP candidates are trailing behind Amritpal.

Hardline Sikh preacher Amritpal Singh, lodged in Assam’s Dibrugarh jail under the National Security Act (NSA), is contesting as an independent candidate from Punjab’s Khadoor Sahib seat, where he is pitted against Congress’ Kulbir Singh Zira and AAP’s Laljit Singh Bhullar.

According to the latest information, Amritpal Singh is leading by 180793 votes. Congress’ Kulbir Singh Jeera has got 108259 votes. AAP’s Laljit Singh Bhullar has got 95000 votes. In this way, Amritpal Singh is leading by 71 thousand votes from his nearest rival, and his victory seems almost certain.
