IPL 2024: Today in the Indian Premier League-2024 (IPL), Punjab Kings defeated Gujarat Titans by 3 wickets. On Thursday, Punjab won the toss and chose to bowl first at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Batting first, Gujarat scored 199 runs for 4 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Punjab achieved the target of 7 wickets in 19.5 overs. Shashank Singh of Chhattisgarh played an unbeaten inning of 61 runs on 29 balls. He has scored his first fifty in IPL.

Gujarat Titans lost the wicket of Wriddhiman Saha early, who could score only 11 runs. Kane Williamson played a match in IPL after a long time, and returned to the pavilion after scoring 26 runs in 22 balls. Sai Sudarshan once again impressed by playing a brilliant inning of 33 runs in 19 balls. Prabhsimran Singh got a good start, but Noor Ahmed dismissed him at the score of 35 runs. The team was continuously losing wickets, but Shashank Singh was standing firm from one end. He made an important contribution to the victory of Punjab by playing an inning of 61 runs in 29 balls while making the team return in the match. On the other hand, Ashutosh Sharma, who came as an impact player, played a stormy inning of 31 runs in 17 balls.

The last over was full of thrill

After the 15th over, the score of Punjab Kings was 138 runs for 5 wickets. Although 15 runs came in the 16th over bowled by Rashid Khan, he also dismissed Jitesh. Mohit Sharma gave only 6 runs in the next over, leaving 41 runs needed in the last 3 overs. Gujarat bowlers gave away 34 runs in the next 2 overs, leaving Punjab needing only 7 runs in the last over. The last over was also full of thrill, but with one ball remaining, Punjab won the match by 3 wickets.

Shashank Singh (born 21 November 1991) is an Indian cricketer, who plays for Chhattisgarh. He made his List A debut on 10 December 2015 in the 2015–16 Vijay Hazare Trophy. In February 2017, he was bought by Delhi Daredevils team for 10 lakhs for the 2017 Indian Premier League. In December 2018, he was bought by Rajasthan Royals in the player auction for the 2019 Indian Premier League. He made his first-class debut for Chhattisgarh in the 2019–20 Ranji Trophy on 9 December 2019. This time Punjab has bought Shashank Singh in IPL.
