Now you will be able to share photos in HD quality on WhatsApp. This feature has started becoming available in the chat application itself. Meta says that users will start getting this feature in the next few weeks. WhatsApp has said that both Android and iOS users will now be able to share high quality and high resolution images in WhatsApp chat. Not only this, WhatsApp web and desktop users will also be able to send HD images. Meta, the company that owns WhatsApp, has also informed that soon HD quality videos can be sent on WhatsApp. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the rollout of this feature through a Facebook post on Thursday. As soon as a user adds the image in the chat, he will see the HD icon. This feature was tested some time ago. However, it is worth noting that more data will be consumed while sharing HD images. Such images will also take up more storage in the phone. How WhatsApp ‘HD photos’ works: This feature of WhatsApp was first spotted by WABetaInfo. It is claimed that whenever users share a photo, the HD image will be slightly compressed. Users will have to manually select the HD option every time. However, Meta has not specified how much it will compress the HD photo. WhatsApp has already said that the HD images shared by users will be secured with end-to-end encryption. Suppose you share HD photos to someone and his internet is slow, then that user will be able to download standard photos instead of HD. Recently the brand has also introduced screen-sharing feature during video calls. It looks quite similar to Google Meet and Zoom.
