Multiple Grand Slam title holder Leander Paes became the first Asian man to be nominated for the ‘International Tennis Hall of Fame’. He got this place in the player category. Leander Paes is 50 years old. He is one of six nominees announced for the Class of 2024. In the player category, she will compete with Cara Black, Carlos Moya, Ana Ivanovic, Flavia Pennetta and Daniel Nestor.

Talking about Paes’ career, he is the winner of 18 Grand Slam titles in doubles and mixed doubles, apart from this he is also the former doubles world number 1. Paes captured 8 Grand Slams in doubles, 10 in mixed doubles and one career Slam in both disciplines in his career spanning three decades. Paes said, “Tennis has given me a lot. Along with Paes, former Indian player Vijay Amritraj was also nominated in the contributor category. According to the ITHF website, “The two nominees in the Contributor category will also include Vijay Amritraj and renowned journalist Richard Evans.” Paes, who was the mainstay of Davis Cup for India for 30 years, has maintained the competition’s record by winning 43 doubles matches.
