PM Vishwakarma Yojana Launched: PM Narendra Modi has launched ‘PM Vishwakarma’ scheme on the occasion of his birthday and Vishwakarma Puja. Earlier, PM Modi dedicated the first phase of India International Convention and Expo Center ‘Yashobhoomi’ to the nation and also inaugurated the extension from Dwarka Sector 21 to Sector 25 on the Delhi Airport Metro Express Line. On this occasion, PM Modi said that this scheme is dedicated to the artisans of the country.

Objective: To financially support artisans and craftsmen in rural and urban areas.

The objective of ‘PM Vishwakarma’ scheme is not only to financially support the artisans and craftsmen in rural and urban areas across the country, but also to keep the age-old tradition, culture and diverse heritage alive and prosperous through local products, arts and crafts. is also. 18 traditional crafts have been included in ‘PM Vishwakarma Yojana’. The Central Government had announced the launch of ‘PM Vishwakarma’ scheme in the Union Budget 2023-24. The financial outlay for this scheme has been kept at Rs 13,000 crore from financial year 2023-24 to financial year 2027-28.

Will be registered free of cost

Under this, ‘Vishwakarma’ (artisans and craftsmen) will be registered free of cost through Common Service Centers using biometric based ‘PM Vishwakarma Portal’. They will be given recognition through PM Vishwakarma certificate and identity card and will also be given basic and advanced training for skill upgradation. On this occasion, the Prime Minister dedicated the India International Convention and Expo Center to the nation in Dwarka, capital Delhi. This center has been named ‘Yashobhoomi’.

The following benefits will be given to the beneficiaries of the scheme:

  • Toolkit worth Rs 15,000

  • Loan of Rs 1 lakh at 5% interest rate

  • Second loan of Rs 2 lakh after repaying the first loan

Eligibility for the scheme is as follows:

  • The applicant must be a citizen of India.

  • The applicant should belong to any Vishwakarma community.

  • The age of the applicant should be between 18 years to 50 years.

  • The applicant should have relevant skill certificate from a recognized institute.

  • Application for the scheme can be made both online and offline. To apply online, the applicant has to apply by visiting the website of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. To apply offline, the applicant has to apply in the concerned District Industries and Enterprises Office.

  • PM Vishwakarma Yojana aims to promote traditional craftsmanship and increase employment opportunities in India. This scheme will help people of Vishwakarma community to develop their skills and become financially self-reliant.

World-level meetings and conferences can be hosted in ‘Yashobhoomi’

After reaching Yashobhoomi, the Prime Minister also inspected this centre. World-class meetings, conferences and exhibitions can be hosted in ‘Yashobhoomi’. It is one of the largest convention and exhibition facilities in the world. The convention center built on an area of ​​about 73,000 square meters has 15 convention rooms. These include the main auditorium, a grand ballroom and 13 meeting rooms with a total seating capacity of 11,000 delegates. The convention center has the country’s largest LED media screen. Its main auditorium has a seating capacity of about six thousand people.

Prime Minister traveled in Delhi Metro

Earlier, the Prime Minister traveled in the Delhi Metro and inaugurated the extension of the Delhi Airport Metro Express Line from Dwarka Sector-21 to the new metro station ‘Yashobhoomi’ in Sector-25. According to information received from officials, the Prime Minister boarded the metro at Dhaula Kuan metro station. During this journey the Prime Minister was also seen interacting with the passengers. Some passengers were also seen taking selfies with the Prime Minister. After the inauguration of the Airport Metro extension, the Prime Minister also interacted with the metro employees.
