Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has partnered with Zomato to deliver pre-ordered food to passengers at their seats in trains. The partnership is a pilot project that is currently being tested across five railway stations: New Delhi, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Lucknow, Varanasi. Passengers can order food through the IRCTC e-Catering portal. IRCTC has already partnered with several food brands, including Dominos, Zoop, Comesum, Behrouz to name a few. Now, passengers can get their favorite food delivered to their seats via Zomato. According to a statement, with this partnership, rail passengers will now have a wider range to choose from. As we mentioned, IRCTC has currently started Proof of Concept (POC) at five major railway stations. These five railway stations are New Delhi, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Lucknow and Varanasi. Under this POC, passengers can get pre-ordered food at their seats through the IRCTC e-Catering portal with the help of Zomato. Let us tell you that after this news came out, the share price of Zomato is at the highest in 52 weeks. It had reached Rs 115, which was Rs 115. With the beginning of the festive season, recently Railway Catering Service has also started special services and offers for its passengers. The catering branch of IRCTC had also announced Navratri thalis in view of the special demand of the fasting passengers.
