The court has handed over Junaid Nasir murder accused Monu Manesar to Rajasthan Police for 14 days judicial custody. Today (Tuesday) Haryana Police had detained Monu Manesar. After which he was presented in the court. Monu Manesar was wanted in the Junaid Nasir murder case in February. A demand for the custody of Monu Manesar was made in the court by Rajasthan Police. Which was accepted by the court.

Who is Monu Manesar?

It is noteworthy that Monu Manesar alias Mohit Yadav leads a cow vigilante group in Nuh and is notorious for posting videos of attacks by cow vigilantes. He is also active in campaigns against ‘Love Jihad’. The term ‘Love Jihad’ is commonly used by the right wing, in which Muslim men are accused of seducing Hindu women and forcibly converting them.

Monu Manesar first came into limelight in 2019

Monu Manesar first came into limelight in 2019, when he was shot at while chasing alleged cow smugglers. He was also a member of the District Cow Protection Task Force formed by the Haryana government after the implementation of the Cow Protection Act in 2015. Monu Manesar has thousands of followers on YouTube and Facebook. He often posted his pictures showing weapons and cars on his social media accounts.

Naseer (25) and Junaid alias Juna (35), residents of Ghatmika village in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur district, were allegedly kidnapped and their bodies were found in a burnt car in Loharu, Bhiwani, Haryana. Monu was earlier named in a case of attempt to murder registered at Pataudi police station in Gurugram on February 7. While absconding, Monu Manesar had issued a video message declaring himself innocent in the latest case.

Monu had said, “My colleagues and I have no role, but Rajasthan Police has registered a case against me and my group members. I don’t even know the deceased.” He said, “At the time of the incident, I was in a hotel in Gurugram with my team members. I am also sharing the CCTV footage of the hotel, which will show that we were present in the hotel. Bharatpur Police has wrongly implicated us and this is a conspiracy to defame my team and my organization.
