South Korean giant Samsung is preparing a slim laptop which will have a special waterdrop hinge mechanism. According to reports, Samsung calls it Flex Hinge and has used it in recent devices Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5. This special hinge is now ready to be used in laptops, which can be launched after the first half of next year. This information has come from Korean outlet The Elec. The hinge that Samsung is planning to use in laptops could make the device slimmer. When the laptop is folded, it fits tightly between the screen. Samsung had introduced many products related to foldable displays at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show and MWC 2023. It is said that apart from laptops, the company is also working on foldable tabs. It is said that the company can launch a foldable tab by the name of Flex-G. Samsung is going to face challenge from LG in the foldable segment. The company has launched a laptop named LG Gram Fold. However, LG does not enjoy much support from consumers in the laptop segment. In such a situation, Samsung still has time to strengthen itself in this segment. There are even reports that Apple is also working on a foldable laptop. However, Apple product is not going to be introduced so soon. We may have to wait for Apple’s foldable laptop till 2026.
