Raigarh. Home voting is important in many ways for senior voters to exercise their franchise on behalf of the Election Commission of India. In the festival of democracy, where every vote plays an important role, but at this stage of age, there is difficulty in walking. It doesn’t seem possible to vote. But the Election Commission of India has removed the problem of not being able to exercise their franchise and has maintained the importance of their vote in democracy by providing the facility to senior voters above 85 years of age to vote at their homes.

It is noteworthy that the process of home voting has been started in all four assemblies in the district from Saturday. Under this, polling parties reached the homes of voters above 85 years of age and more than 40 percent with disabilities to vote.

There are a total of 135 home voters in the district, which include 23 in Raigarh, 56 in Kharsia, 19 in Lailunga and 37 in Dharamjaygarh. Out of the total 135 voters who applied for home voting, 131 voted through postal ballot at their residence. 1 voter has passed away and to provide the facility of voting to the remaining 3 voters through postal ballot, a team of polling officers will again visit their residence on 2nd May.
