Raipur. IPS GP Singh, who was compulsorily retired by the Central Government, has got a big relief from CAT. CAT has ordered that all the cases related to GP Singh be resolved and reinstated within four weeks. 1994 batch IPS officer GP Singh was given compulsory retirement by the Union Home Ministry in the month of July last year on the recommendation of the state government. Let us inform that on July 1, 2021, the ACB team had conducted raids at Singh’s government bungalow at Police Lines, apart from Rajnandgaon and 15 other places in Odisha, in which many sensitive documents along with undisclosed assets worth Rs 10 crore were found. On the basis of the property recovered from the raid, on one hand the ACB had registered an FIR against GP Singh in a corruption case, while on the other hand the government had suspended him on 5th July and registered a case of treason against him on the night of 8th July.

After this development, on July 9, 2021, GP Singh filed a petition in the High Court, demanding a CBI investigation. After investigation of the case, GP Singh was arrested from Noida on January 11, 2022, after which he got bail in May 2022.

After this entire incident, on the recommendation of the Service Review Committee, on July 21, 2023, the Union Home Ministry compulsorily retired IPS GP Singh from the Government of India. When the decision was taken to compulsorily retire IPS, GP Singh had eight years of service left.
