President Zelensky has vehemently criticized the proposed meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin in Alaska, firmly stating that Ukraine will not surrender any of its land. This strong reaction follows reports suggesting that the meeting might address a potential exchange of territories between Ukraine and Russia.
Zelensky underscored that any agreement made without Ukraine’s participation would be invalid. He believes such a resolution would undermine peace and ultimately fail. Zelensky highlighted that any decision made to the detriment of Ukraine opposes peace efforts and would be unproductive. He called for true peace, respected by all.
Addressing the location of the meeting, far from Ukraine, Zelensky pointed out that Trump and Putin are preparing to meet in Alaska, a location distant from the ongoing war on Ukrainian soil. He clarified that the conflict cannot be resolved without Ukraine’s involvement. Zelensky noted Putin’s misjudgment in invading Ukraine, and emphasized the resilience of the Ukrainian people and their ability to defend themselves.
