Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to visit India in December, according to an announcement by the Kremlin. This marks Putin’s first trip to India in approximately four years. Yuri Ushakov, a foreign policy advisor, provided the update. Putin’s last visit to India occurred on December 6, 2021.
Ushakov further revealed that Putin will meet with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Tianjin, China, on the upcoming Monday, during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit. They plan to discuss the upcoming visit to India. Ushakov stated, “Especially important is that preparations for the upcoming visit of our President Putin to India in December will be discussed.” The two leaders will have their first meeting of the year in Tianjin, though they have maintained regular communication via phone.
