External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba engaged in a discussion where India expressed its support for a quick end to the conflict in Ukraine. The ministers spoke over the phone, focusing on ways to resolve the ongoing war. Jaishankar announced on X that they addressed both bilateral cooperation and the situation in Ukraine. India backs ending the conflict to achieve lasting peace. Kuleba provided insights into the current war situation and Ukraine’s moves towards a just peace. Kuleba stated his country’s reliance on India’s official position and its active involvement in supporting a comprehensive end to the war and wider international peace initiatives. Both ministers have agreed to meet during the United Nations General Assembly this month, to further develop their bilateral ties, including political discussions, high-level engagements, economic partnerships, technology, and other collaborative fields. This development comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s discussion with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in Tianjin, where Modi indicated India’s support for all recent efforts to bring peace to Ukraine.
