Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri’s recent visit to Abu Dhabi focused on bolstering the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and the UAE. The visit was a continuation of discussions initiated at the 15th Joint Commission Meeting held in December 2024. Misri met with Reem Al Hashim, Minister of State for International Cooperation, to assess the progress of the partnership across multiple sectors, including trade, investment, energy, and technology. The two sides agreed to work together in international forums. The Foreign Secretary acknowledged the support received from UAE leadership following the Pahalgam terrorist attack. A meeting with Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Co-existence, also took place, where Misri acknowledged the care provided to the Indian diaspora in the UAE. Discussions with Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defence Affairs, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee, reaffirmed the shared commitment to countering terrorism. The visit highlighted the strong and growing relationship between the two nations.
