During Charlie Kirk’s memorial service at State Farm Stadium in Arizona, former President Donald Trump delivered a passionate address, denouncing the attack that took Kirk’s life. Trump declared that the shooting was not just against Kirk but against all conservatives, highlighting that Kirk was killed for his beliefs.
Trump stated: “The gun was pointed at him, but the bullet was aimed at all of us. Charlie was killed for expressing the very ideas that virtually everyone in this arena and most other places throughout our country deeply believed in.”
Trump accused radicals and their media allies of attempting to silence Kirk due to his accomplishments. He further cautioned against political intolerance and ideological extremism, linking such ideologies to acts of violence like the one in Utah. Trump referred to the individual responsible for Kirk’s killing, Tyler Robinson, as a “radicalised, cold-blooded monster.” He expressed hope that Robinson would receive the appropriate punishment and criticized individuals who rejoiced at Kirk’s death.
