Donald Trump has once again voiced his opinion on the Nobel Peace Prize, asserting that not receiving the award would be perceived as a significant slight, not just against him personally, but against the United States as a whole. Trump claims credit for resolving seven substantial international conflicts and suggests that if the Gaza conflict also comes to an end, it will mark his eighth major accomplishment.
This declaration coincides with the upcoming Nobel Prize announcements on October 10th. Trump has a history of discussing the prize. In 2024, he remarked that he would have been awarded the Nobel within seconds had his name been Obama. He contrasted this with his own achievements, claiming he had to win an election to prove himself. He reiterated this sentiment in his recent statement.
Speaking to officials at the Quantico military headquarters in Virginia on Tuesday, Trump stated, “We have nearly resolved the Gaza issue. Now, we will see if Hamas agrees. If they don’t, it will be tough for them. The positive aspect is that all Arab and Muslim nations have agreed, and Israel is also on board.”
Trump continued, “Consider it: ending eight conflicts in eight months is no small feat. Yet, I won’t get the Nobel. The honor will likely go to someone who has done nothing, or perhaps an author who writes a book about Trump’s thought process and capitalizes on my efforts.”
He emphatically stated that the lack of a Nobel would be viewed as a national insult, not a personal one. “I don’t seek this award for myself. America deserves it, as the world has never witnessed such an achievement. Resolving eight conflicts is nothing short of a miracle.”
Reports indicate that Trump has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by seven countries, including Pakistan, Israel, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Cambodia, Rwanda, and Gabon. However, the Nobel Committee typically keeps nomination details confidential for 50 years.
