The nomination comes as the Trump administration has placed additional tariffs on Indian goods. Trump highlighted Gor’s previous work in his administration and his role in his presidential campaigns. Gor will be replacing Eric Garcetti, with Jorgan K. Andrews currently leading the US Embassy in India as interim Charge d’Affaires.
