The US Department of State has issued a global travel advisory, cautioning American citizens about potential risks associated with the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran. The advisory, released on Monday, points to travel disruptions and intermittent airspace closures in the Middle East. It also warns of the possibility of demonstrations targeting US citizens and interests worldwide. As a result, the Department of State is urging US citizens to practice heightened vigilance. The State Department’s communication highlights the potential for protests aimed at American citizens and assets internationally, recommending that travelers consult travel advisories, country-specific information, and any recent security updates. Prior to this, on June 19, the US Embassy ordered all US government personnel and their families in Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza to stay in secure locations until additional notice, due to the ongoing security situation and the Israel-Iran conflict. The directive included plans for the Department to provide assistance to private US citizens seeking to leave Israel.
