Following in the footsteps of Russia and China, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed unwavering support for Iran. He held discussions with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, labeling the Israeli strikes as aggressive and calling for Muslim nations to unite.
On June 13, Israel launched air attacks against Iran, resulting in the deaths of several high-ranking military figures and scientists. Iran responded with its own missile strikes, targeting port facilities and other strategic locations.
Prime Minister Sharif condemned the Israeli air attacks, stating they were a clear violation of international laws and the UN charter. He stated that Iran has the right to defend itself, as per Article 51 of the UN charter.
Concurrent to this, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud engaged in a phone call with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. According to the Saudi Press Agency, the Crown Prince extended his condolences and sympathy to the President and the people of Iran. He also expressed his sympathy for the families of those who lost their lives.
The Crown Prince reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s condemnation of the attacks, which he said infringed upon the sovereignty and security of Iran, violating international laws and norms.
He also highlighted that such attacks undermine ongoing dialogue, aimed at resolving the crisis. He stressed the importance of dialogue as the foundation for settling disagreements.
