Mark Rutte, the Secretary General of NATO, has put India, China, and Brazil on notice, indicating that they could face secondary sanctions if they continue trading with Russia. The warning was clear: these measures would be implemented if the countries didn’t halt their business activities with Russia. Rutte directly called upon the leaders of India, China, and Brazil to speak with Vladimir Putin to convince him to accept a US-led peace deal. He warned that if these countries continued purchasing Russian oil and gas, sanctions would be imposed. Rutte emphasized the need for Putin to engage in serious peace talks, highlighting that the economic consequences of inaction would be substantial. In a related development, Rutte also committed to providing financial assistance to Ukraine from European nations, with the aim of bolstering Ukraine’s negotiating position, as well as providing military aid to the country.
