Canadian authorities are investigating a shooting incident involving Punjabi singer Teji Kahlon, with the Rohit Godara gang swiftly taking credit. The attack is believed to be an escalation of inter-gang rivalries among Indian diaspora criminal networks active in Canada, a phenomenon also linked to figures like Lawrence Bishnoi.
In a social media declaration, the Rohit Godara gang detailed their motives for targeting Kahlon. They specifically named Mahendra Saran Dilana, Rahul Rinau, and Vicky Phalwan as associated individuals and laid out accusations against the singer. These included allegations of providing funds to opposing factions, supplying weapons, informing on gang activities, and planning assaults on gang members. The group asserted that the shooting, which they claim injured Kahlon in the torso, was a direct retaliation for these alleged offenses.
Beyond the direct assault, the gang issued a chilling ultimatum to the wider community. They proclaimed that any person offering financial or other forms of support to Teji Kahlon, whom they labeled a “traitor,” would face extreme consequences. The threat extended to the families of anyone deemed to be aiding their rivals. This intimidation tactic appears to encompass a wide range of individuals, including those in business, construction, and informal financial exchange networks. The gang concluded by stating that any act of support for their enemies would irrevocably mark the perpetrator as an enemy of the Rohit Godara syndicate.
