Amidst speculation, sources have affirmed that no Russia-India-China (RIC) meeting has been arranged. No discussions are currently taking place regarding the scheduling of this trilateral dialogue. The Ministry of External Affairs had previously noted that the RIC format facilitates discussions on global and regional matters. The timing of the next India-Russia summit, planned to be hosted in Delhi, will be determined based on mutual convenience. Indian industry concerns were also raised after the meeting between External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and China’s Foreign Secretary Wang Yi. Participation in the upcoming SCO meeting will be finalized based on mutual convenience. China’s Foreign Ministry has stated its commitment to maintaining communication with Russia and India to further trilateral cooperation, emphasizing the benefits it brings to the three countries and promoting global peace, security, and stability. The RIC framework was established in the late 1990s, initiated by Russian politician Yevgeny Primakov. The combined territory of the RIC member states represents over 19% of the world’s land area.
