Kim Jong Un has directed his nation to significantly increase its nuclear arsenal, citing escalating tensions due to joint military exercises involving the United States and South Korea. The exercises, which began this week, are seen by Pyongyang as a provocation. KCNA, North Korea’s state media, reported the leader’s stance, highlighting the country’s commitment to bolstering its nuclear strength. The ongoing military drills involve the US and South Korea, with a focus on strategies to counter potential nuclear threats from North Korea. While North Korea views these exercises as aggressive, the US and South Korea have consistently stated their defensive nature. The exercises, known as Ulchi Freedom Shield, are scheduled to last for 11 days.
