Experience a new era of opportunity in Saudi Arabia with the recently slashed Premium Residency Permit fee, now a one-time payment of just SAR 4,000 (around $1,065). Introduced in January 2024, this move significantly lowers the barrier for qualified expatriates seeking to live, work, and invest in the Kingdom on a sponsor-free basis. This new fee represents a massive decrease from the previous SAR 100,000 annual charges.
The revised scheme, building on the 2019 launch, now encompasses seven tracks, with five of them eligible for this attractive SAR 4,000 fee. These specialized pathways are designed to attract individuals with advanced skills and substantial financial capacity, allowing them to bypass the traditional iqama system and sponsorship requirements.
Eligible individuals can pursue residency through tracks like Special Talent, which targets top-tier professionals in fields such as medicine and science, requiring specific degrees and experience. The Gifted track is for distinguished individuals in cultural, artistic, or athletic domains. For investors, a minimum SAR 7 million investment in Saudi enterprises is necessary, while entrepreneurs need to demonstrate secured funding and a minimum SAR 400,000 investment in innovative startups. Those owning valuable real estate (SAR 4 million+) can also apply for the Real Estate Owner residency.
Holders of the SAR 4,000 Premium Residency enjoy extensive privileges, including sponsor-free living and working, unrestricted private sector employment, visa-free travel, and the right to own property across most of the Kingdom. The application is streamlined and conducted online, requiring applicants to be over 21, possess a valid passport, and maintain a clean legal record.
This strategic pricing adjustment underscores Saudi Arabia’s commitment to becoming a premier global hub for talent and investment, offering a secure and independent residency for those contributing to its ambitious future.
