In Japan, PM Modi will attend the 15th annual summit, hosted by Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba. The summit will center around advancing the Special Strategic and Global Partnership between India and Japan. Key areas of discussion include expanding economic and investment relations, as well as collaboration in AI and semiconductors. The leaders will also discuss reinforcing the India-Japan civilizational and cultural partnership.
Following his Japan visit, Prime Minister Modi will journey to Tianjin, China, for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit. He will attend at the invitation of President Xi Jinping. Prime Minister Modi highlighted India’s role as an active and constructive member of the SCO, promoting ideas such as innovation, health, and cultural exchange during its chairmanship. Bilateral meetings are planned with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Putin, and other prominent figures.
The Prime Minister anticipates that the visit will serve to strengthen India’s national interests and foster peace, security, and sustainable development regionally and globally.
