The meeting took place as the United States has levied tariffs on Indian imports, including penalties linked to the purchase of discounted crude oil from Moscow. Addressing the Ukraine conflict, PM Modi welcomed efforts toward peace and expressed his hope that all parties would work constructively to resolve the situation and achieve enduring peace. He emphasized the importance of his meetings with President Putin, citing their value in exchanging information and the frequency of high-level interactions between the two sides.
