A horrific incident unfolded at a Catholic school in Minneapolis, Minnesota, during a prayer service when a shooter opened fire on students. The attack resulted in the deaths of two children, aged 8 and 10, and left 17 others wounded. The shooter, who was armed with a rifle, shotgun, and pistol, later succumbed to self-inflicted injuries. President Donald Trump responded to the tragedy by ordering flags to be flown at half-staff across the nation to pay respects to the victims. The order applies to flags at the White House, all public buildings, military posts, naval stations, and U.S. embassies and consulates worldwide until sunset on August 31, 2025. The President stated he was fully briefed on the tragic shooting and that the FBI promptly responded and arrived at the scene. The White House is closely monitoring the appalling situation. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey also conveyed his condolences.
