Amidst the turmoil in Nepal, including violent demonstrations and an attack on the parliament, KP Sharma Oli’s movements became a subject of public interest. After being ousted from his position as Prime Minister, Oli sought refuge with the army. He spent nine days under their protection before relocating to a private residence. This followed his resignation from the Prime Ministership, which paved the way for Sushila Karki to assume the role. The army barracks where Oli initially stayed were situated in the Shivapuri forest area, north of Kathmandu. The exact location of his current residence remains undisclosed. Sources suggest that Oli is now residing in a private home in the Gundoo area of Bhaktapur district, approximately 15 kilometers east of Kathmandu.
Oli’s resignation took place on September 9, amidst protests. The unrest also involved the burning of his residence in Balkot, Bhaktapur. At the time of the protests, Oli was at the official Prime Minister’s residence, and he was subsequently evacuated by an army helicopter to a secure location. Other prominent political figures, including former Prime Ministers Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, Sher Bahadur Deuba, Jhalanath Khanal, and Madhav Kumar Nepal, also received temporary protection from the army.
