The conflict between Israel and Iran saw Israel successfully target Iran within its own territory. Israeli forces conducted operations to eliminate high-ranking Iranian officials, leading to international recognition of Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad. Mossad had infiltrated Iran with a network designed to neutralize Iranian officials.
Following the conflict, Iranian police disclosed the detention of nearly 21,000 individuals suspected of espionage. These detentions were carried out based on tips received from the public. In contrast, the judiciary cited an approximate figure of 2,000 arrests.
According to police spokesperson Saeed Montezerolmahdi, these arrests were prompted by 7,850 reports made to the national emergency line 110. He noted a substantial rise in public calls—41%—and the apprehension of 21,000 suspects during the 12-day conflict, underscoring the public’s heightened awareness and participation in maintaining national security.
