The annual India Day Parade took place on the streets of New York, with thousands of Indian Americans celebrating India’s 79th Independence Day. This event is one of the largest of its kind outside of India. The streets of New York echoed with chants of ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’, ‘Vande Mataram’, ‘Satyamev Jayate’, and ‘Jai Hind’. The Indian diaspora marched proudly, waving the Indian flag. The city transformed into a reflection of India’s unity, pride, and patriotism, with the Indian national flag proudly displayed at every corner. The parade, with its tricolor flags, drums, dances, and patriotic songs, became a vibrant symbol of India’s unity, pride, and cultural enthusiasm. MP Satnam Sandhu remarked that India is progressing every day, boasting one of the largest digital ecosystems in the world. He noted the significance of even a vegetable vendor accepting digital payments as a symbol of the digital revolution. He also highlighted India’s role in serving humanity during COVID-19 by not only protecting its borders but also sending vaccines worldwide.
