Pakistan is facing severe flooding, impacting both its Punjab region and that of India. The floods in Pakistan’s Punjab have resulted in the displacement of 3.7 million people in the past fortnight. In response, the government and various entities are engaged in rescue and aid initiatives. Notably, Jamaat-ud-Dawa, an extremist Islamic organization and an alleged wing of Lashkar-e-Taiba, is also involved. This group, which has been implicated in the 2008 Mumbai attacks and is led by the wanted individual Hafiz Saeed, has announced that 2,000 of its members are working on flood relief in the country’s northwest and Punjab provinces.
