A government secondary school in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province was targeted in a bomb attack carried out by terrorists. The incident, which occurred in the Karabag area of Barmal tehsil, South Waziristan district, resulted in damage to multiple rooms and the boundary wall of the school, as reported by official sources. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries. The increasing unrest in the region has led to a climate of fear, hindering educational activities, police sources noted. Concurrently, three bridges have been damaged in recent blasts by terrorists, disrupting the Wana-Azam Warsak highway and causing challenges for people. Local communities have expressed worry and demanded that the government probe and increase security. This school bombing follows another incident on June 6, where a government secondary school in the Akbari village of Tank district was also targeted, resulting in damage to several classrooms. The TTP splinter group in Tank district, known for opposing girls’ education, is suspected in these attacks.
