Five French activists are in Israeli custody following the interception of a ship en route to deliver aid to Gaza. The ship, named Madleen, was carrying aid when it was stopped in international waters and rerouted to Ashdod port. Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot announced the arrests, with one activist agreeing to leave voluntarily. The others face deportation. The mission was organized by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC), which alleges the Israeli military ‘attacked’ the ship. Also among those detained was Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg, along with other international volunteers. Reports indicate the ship was targeted with a white substance and subjected to communication interference, as it carried baby formula, food, and medical supplies.
