Elon Musk, the head of Tesla, has retracted his recent comments about Donald Trump. Musk admitted on X that his statements were “too far.” The comments followed previous statements made by Musk about Trump, raising questions about their relationship, which was confirmed by Trump.
Musk wrote on X, “I regret some of my posts about President Donald Trump last week. They went too far.”
The feud between Trump and Musk included Trump saying he wouldn’t seek to repair their relationship. Trump warned that Musk, a former benefactor, could face “serious consequences” if he supported the Democrats in the upcoming elections.
In an interview, when asked if his relationship with Tesla CEO Musk was over, Trump stated, “I would assume so, yeah.” He expressed no interest in resolving the conflict.
Trump said, “I’m too busy doing other things, you know, I won an election in a landslide…I gave him a lot of breaks, long before this happened, I gave him breaks in my first administration, and saved his life in my first administration, I have no intention of speaking to him.”
The disagreement stemmed from Musk’s criticism of Trump’s spending legislation, which Musk said would “massively increase the already gigantic budget deficit to USD 2.5 trillion,” adding, “Congress is making America bankrupt.” Musk described the bill as a “disgusting abomination.”
