Elon Musk, the well-known billionaire, took down a tweet that referenced Donald Trump within the context of the Epstein files. The deletion came amidst a war of words between Musk and Trump, triggered by Musk’s assertion that Trump’s inclusion in the files was the reason for their suppression.
Musk previously stepped down from his position as a special government employee with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), stating his intention to focus more on his business interests.
It is understood that Musk’s dissatisfaction was related to Trump’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill.’
Musk’s now-deleted X post stated, “Donald Trump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!”
Musk later signaled a potential reconciliation when replying to a post by American Fund Manager Bill Ackman. Ackman had written, “I support @realDonaldTrump and @elonmusk and they should make peace for the benefit of our great country. We are much stronger together than apart.” Musk responded with, “You’s are not wrong.”
The disagreement between Trump and Musk centered on recent legislation, leading to heated exchanges and mutual accusations on their respective social media platforms.
The feud escalated when Musk made serious allegations regarding Trump’s association with the financier Jeffrey Epstein, marking a sharp turn in their personal conflict. The feud between the two men got nastier, less than a week after Musk officially left his position spearheading the quasi-official Department of Government Efficiency.
US Vice President JD Vance came to Trump’s defense during the public dispute.
In a post on X, Vance commented, “President Trump has done more than any person in my lifetime to earn the trust of the movement he leads. I’m proud to stand beside him.”
