A heated exchange erupted between Elon Musk and Donald Trump, culminating in Musk deleting a tweet referencing Trump within the context of the Epstein files. The online confrontation began after Musk suggested that the contents of the Epstein files were being withheld due to Trump’s involvement.
Musk had recently departed from his role as a special government employee within the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), citing his focus on his business interests. Reports indicate that Musk’s criticism was sparked by Trump’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill.’
Musk’s deleted tweet on X stated, “Donald Trump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!” In response to a call for reconciliation by fund manager Bill Ackman, Musk hinted at a possible truce, responding with, “ You’s are not wrong.”
The conflict unfolded as Trump was promoting his ‘big, beautiful bill,’ which proposed substantial tax reductions and increased military spending. The disagreement between the two amplified on social media, with each party leveling sharp accusations. The dispute escalated when Musk made serious claims about Trump’s connection to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, intensifying their already personal conflict. This occurred shortly after Musk’s departure from his position within the Department of Government Efficiency.
In support of Trump, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance posted on X, “President Trump has done more than any person in my lifetime to earn the trust of the movement he leads. I’m proud to stand beside him.”
