Renna O’Rourke, a 19-year-old from Arizona, has succumbed to the ‘dusting’ challenge, a social media trend that involves inhaling household cleaners. The young woman suffered cardiac arrest after inhaling keyboard cleaner, ordered without her parents’ knowledge, and was subsequently declared brain dead after four days in the ICU. The trend, also referred to as ‘huffing’ or ‘chroming,’ carries severe health risks, including heart failure. Renna’s mother expressed concern about the easy accessibility of such products to young people. In response to this tragedy, the family is working to raise awareness about the dangers of ‘dusting,’ emphasizing the importance of parental vigilance and environmental checks. A GoFundMe page has been set up to assist with the financial burdens of medical expenses and therapy.
