Lt Gen. Jeffrey Kruse has been relieved of his duties as Chief of the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) by the Pentagon. The decision followed a report from the DIA that conflicted with President Trump’s statement regarding the impact of US strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities. The President had claimed the strikes ‘obliterated’ the facilities. This dismissal is part of a trend of high-level officials being removed during this administration. Senator Mark Warner, a prominent member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, voiced alarm over Kruse’s firing, implying it was motivated by a desire for political alignment within the intelligence community.
