Nepal observed Constitution Day, with Interim Prime Minister Sushila Karki delivering a speech emphasizing the importance of upholding the constitution. Karki highlighted the recent Gen-Z movement as a reflection of youth aspirations and dissatisfaction. She assured the government’s commitment to addressing the concerns of the populace and vowed to combat corruption, stimulate job creation, and enhance the quality of life for Nepali citizens.
The celebrations were scaled down compared to previous years. This year, the focus was on remembering the lives lost in the recent demonstrations. The political situation in Nepal has been unsettled following the Gen-Z led protests against corruption, which led to the resignation of the former Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli.
