A shocking event of violence has unfolded in Kotri, Pakistan, where a member of the Hindu Bagri community was subjected to a severe beating. The victim’s offense was simply eating at a local restaurant. According to reports, Daulat Bagri was at the eatery for a meal when the owner and others confronted him. They bound him, subjected him to a brutal assault, and stole 60,000 rupees from him. Despite his cries for mercy, the attackers continued their assault, condemning his presence. The video of the attack has spread widely on social media, generating public anger and calls for justice. Following the incident, Kotri police filed a case against the accused, including the restaurant proprietor. However, no arrests have yet been made. Before the police registered the case, a petition was submitted to the Jamshoro District and Sessions Court, accusing law enforcement officials of inaction. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the continuous discrimination and violence targeting Hindu minorities in Pakistan, particularly the vulnerable Bagri community, who frequently face religious bias, social isolation, and official indifference.
