Bhutan’s Prime Minister has voiced strong support for reforming the UN Security Council, specifically backing India and Japan for permanent seats. The statement was made during the 80th UNGA session, where Tobgay emphasized the need for the UNSC to evolve into an effective body that can address global challenges. He highlighted that India and Japan are capable and influential nations that deserve a permanent place in a reformed UNSC. This aligns with India’s ongoing efforts to secure a permanent seat, a demand also supported by the BRICS nations.
