Olympic medalist wrestler and BJP leader Yogeshwar Dutt says that Vinesh Phogat should apologize to the country for causing India to lose the medal. He has also targeted Vinesh for her disqualification in the Olympics. Vinesh Phogat has joined the Congress and is contesting from Julana seat in the Haryana assembly elections.

Yogeshwar has also accused of creating a wrong image of the country. Regarding Vinesh joining Congress, he said, ‘Everyone’s personal choice of joining politics is their own thing. We joined BJP, Babita ji joined BJP, she has joined Congress. But the country should know the truth. The things that happened in India in the last 1 year, be it disqualification in Olympics, agitation, creating a wrong image of India during the inauguration of the new Parliament.’

He further said that Phogat should apologize to the country, Yogeshwar Dutt did not even spare Vinesh Phogat because according to him she should have apologized to the whole country for not being able to control her weight. He said, “After being disqualified from the Olympics, Vinesh should have apologized to the whole country saying that she had made a mistake. Instead, she called it a conspiracy and even blamed the Prime Minister of the country. Everyone knows what the rules are, whether the difference is of 1 gram or 100 grams, she will be disqualified under the rules.”

Yogeshwar Dutt also said that a wrong atmosphere was created in the country with the help of Olympics. People were gathered during the movement. After Vinesh’s disqualification, an atmosphere was created as if something wrong had happened to her. Yogeshwar said, “If I had been disqualified in place of Vinesh, I would have apologized to the whole country.”

He said, ‘Here people are being welcomed. They are abusing the PM. The tradition of welcoming people for mistakes which is prevalent in India is wrong.’ Yogeshwar Dutt joined BJP in the year 2019.
