Following Donald Trump’s announcement of a trade deal with Pakistan related to oil reserves, Mir Yar Baloch has rejected Islamabad’s claim over Balochistan. He stated that Balochistan’s resources, including oil, gas, and various minerals, belong to the Baloch people and their sovereign territory, not Pakistan. Baloch’s letter to Trump highlighted Pakistan’s alleged false claims and its aim to control Balochistan’s mineral wealth for economic gain. He asserted that Pakistan has no authority over the region’s resources, including rare earth elements and uranium. Baloch warned that the Pakistani military misled US and UN officials regarding the mineral reserves, potentially influencing the deal. He characterized the deal as a strategic error, arguing that it would strengthen the ISI, which he identified as a sponsor of terrorism. He emphasized that allowing Pakistan to exploit Balochistan’s resources would finance global terrorism, endanger regional stability, and potentially lead to attacks like 9/11. Baloch also mentioned that the profits would support anti-India and anti-Israel militant operations, and that Balochistan declared itself an independent republic in May 2025. He concluded with a strong statement: Balochistan is not for sale, and its resources are not to be exploited without the Baloch people’s consent.
