A devastating terror plot, poised to be the deadliest in global history, has been successfully dismantled by Indian intelligence agencies. The audacious plan involved equipping 32 vehicles with approximately 3,200 kilograms of explosives, a quantity capable of inflicting unimaginable destruction. This sophisticated terror network, referred to as a ‘white-collar’ module, aimed for widespread carnage through coordinated blasts. The stockpiled ammonium nitrate, enough to level neighborhoods, underscores the severity of the averted catastrophe. Analysis of the explosives’ potential impact reveals that a simultaneous detonation would have been comparable to 2.5 tons of TNT, resulting in obliteration within a 50-meter radius, catastrophic lung damage from shockwaves, and the collapse of buildings up to 150 meters away. Comparing this to historical attacks like the Oklahoma City bombing, the scale of the intended devastation is chillingly clear. Despite the significant success in dismantling the network, vigilance remains paramount as a portion of the explosives and the majority of the planned vehicle bombs are still unaccounted for, indicating the threat may not be entirely neutralized.
