According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a possibility of rain in some areas of Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and West Bengal. According to the Meteorological Department, with the active monsoon from 18-19 July, good rains are expected in many states in the next three-four days.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of thunderstorms in the next few hours in Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Meerut, Hastinapur, Bijnor, Najibabad, Chandpur and surrounding areas of Uttar Pradesh. Due to the rise in temperature in most areas of UP, there is humid heat, due to which people are very upset and waiting for the rain. The maximum temperature in the state capital Lucknow on Friday was recorded 2.8 degrees Celsius above normal, 36.6 degrees Celsius. At the same time, the minimum temperature was also recorded at 28.3 degree Celsius, 2.4 degree higher than normal. However, there is a possibility of rain in some areas of eastern Uttar Pradesh today i.e. on Saturday.
Chance of rain today in these states of the country
A cyclonic circulation is seen over central parts of Madhya Pradesh. According to weather forecast agency Skymet, light to moderate rains are likely to occur at one or two places over Uttarakhand, Terai regions of Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and parts of northern coastal Andhra Pradesh. Light to moderate rains may occur over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, North Bihar, Odisha, South-Western Madhya Pradesh, South-Eastern Rajasthan, Telangana, Punjab, Haryana and parts of Delhi.
Yellow and Orange alerts issued in Himachal Pradesh
The rainy season continues in most places in Himachal Pradesh. In view of the possibility of more rains in the coming days in Himachal, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow and orange alert. An alert has been issued in 10 districts of Himachal Pradesh on July 20 and 21, warning of heavy rains.
Director of Meteorological Center Shimla, Manmohan Singh said that Yellow and Orange alerts have been issued for Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Una, Kangra, Mandi, Kullu, Shimla, Solan, Sirmaur and Chamba districts. He said that heavy rains are expected in the state till 22 July. A yellow alert has been issued in Kullu and Mandi on 20 July. For July 21, heavy rain warnings have been issued in Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra, Shimla and Sirmaur with Orange alert. Yellow alert has been issued in Kullu, Solan and Mandi for 21 July
Floods in Assam hurt people
Lakhs of people have been affected by the floods in Assam. However, the Meteorological Department has said in its forecast that the increase in monsoon activity in northern and northeastern parts of the country may add to the problems. According to the news agency PTI, former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Central Government to immediately pay attention to the flood situation in the state and provide maximum assistance to the state.
At the same time, the Dalai Lama has also expressed grief over the death and loss of property due to floods in some parts of Assam. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in the northwestern part of the country during July 18-20. Apart from this, there is a possibility of heavy rains between 18 and 21 July in Northeast and Eastern India.
Landslides caused by rain in Uttarakhand
Floods in the plains have caused havoc, so the landslides in the hilly areas are devastating. In Rudraprayag, Kedarnath and Badrinath highways were closed due to stones falling from the mountains. Even in Chamoli, the sky is ravaging havoc. Landslides have occurred in many places due to rain. NH-58 going to Rishikesh-Badrinath has been closed due to cracking of mountains.
