Details have emerged about a new VR headset, the Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition, a collaborative effort between Microsoft and Meta. The leak reveals a rebranded Meta Quest 3S headset with an Xbox-themed design. The headset is expected to be priced at $399 and will include 128GB of storage. It is rumored to launch on June 24, alongside an Xbox controller, Elite strap and a three-month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.
The Quest 3S Xbox Edition is positioned as a budget-friendly VR option, leveraging the Meta Quest platform, and intended to compete with devices such as the PlayStation VR2. It will offer access to the complete Meta Quest library and Xbox Cloud Gaming, enabling gamers to play games directly in VR. This aligns with Meta’s expansion of Horizon OS licensing to third-party hardware, with Xbox being an early partner. The project, a result of a partnership that’s been in the works since last year, as hinted at by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, marks a significant step for Xbox in the VR market.
